AnnaSophia Robb Talks ‘Carrie Diaries,’ Boys & NYC with ‘Teen Vogue’
With Gossip Girl no longer holding a spot on The CW’s Monday lineup — that series finale shocker. What?! — it’s time to make room for another television show. Say hello to The Carrie Diaries, a series also dedicated to New York City, drama and obviously fashion. With the premiere episode airing on January 14, it’s time we get to know its star, AnnaSophia Robb. She’s just been dubbed by Teen Vogue as the next ‘It’ girl after all. To see why, read the best quotes from her cover interview…
On her fresh start in NYC: “I think I was made to live in New York… I love being able to walk everywhere. And there’s so much going on — I actually get a little nervous on the weekends, wondering what to do and who to hang out with… When I used to watch Gossip Girl or Sex and the City, I thought the things that happened were totally exaggerated. But then I got here and realized they’re not. That’s what it’s really like!… [T]oday, for example, I was walking through the park, and there was a guy playing a piano, absolutely beautifully, right in the middle of a plaza. That doesn’t happen in normal cities.”
But the Colorado native, who graduated from HS just outside of Denver last spring, hasn’t forgotten her roots: “I loved high school. Everyone always asks me if the other kids treated me differently because of my career, but they didn’t. If you act weird, people are going to treat you weird, but if you’re just yourself, people respond to that.”
Of course TV couldn’t let the girl playing ultimate single girl Carrie Bradshaw get away without dishing on boys. When asked if she gets hit on, she replies, “Never… Everyone always says that guys are intimidated by me, but I seriously doubt it. I mean, I’m five-foot-nothing!”
