No one can say Anna Kendrick‘s a one-trick pony, that’s for sure. The actress/singer has just signed on for her next film project, and it’s far from any of the other work we’ve seen from her in the past.

According to The Wrap, the Oscar nominee is set to join the cast of Zach Braff‘s Wish I Was Here, which has been made possible by Kickstarter. (You know, the same engine that made the Veronica Mars movie possible.) Anna “will play Janine, a young woman into Cosplay who Braff’s brother, played by Josh Gad, becomes smitten with.”

This news comes only weeks after the announcement of Anna joining the cast of The Voices with Ryan Reynolds. Though it may sound Pitch Perfect-esque — hello, voices? Singing? Pretty synonymous, right? — it’s actually about a disturbed factory worker who hears voices of his cats and dogs. (Aca-awkward.) Find out more details and weigh in via Trendin’ on Teen!

Still on Anna’s plate: Get a Job with Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Alison Brie, Rapture-Palooza with The Hangover‘s Ken Jeong, and The Last Five Years. She sure has come a long way since playing annoying girl Jessica in Twilight.

What do you think of Anna’s latest role? Does it sound like something you’d want to see? Are you into Cosplay (short for “costume play”)? Spill in the comments below!
