American Idol Alum Haley Reinhart Arrested for Battery During Bar Fight
Welp, that’s one way to get promo for your new music. On Saturday, July 8, singer Haley Reinhart was arrested for battery after reportedly punching a bouncer in the head during an altercation at a bar outside Chicago, Illinois. According to Variety, “The incident transpired after security staff at the Lamplighter Inn asked a group of patrons, who included Reinhart, to leave the bar after they allegedly knocked over a table.”
But that’s not how Haley remembers the night’s events. “Without provocation, Haley Reinhart was assaulted by bouncers at the Lamplighter Inn,” the American Idol alum’s attorney, Dina LaPolt, claims. “After forcefully removing Ms. Reinhart, they violently beat her friend, who sustained multiple injuries. We believe that she will be exonerated of all charges once the investigation is completed. We plan on taking legal action against all those who were involved in this unfortunate incident.”
A court date has been set for August 2.
The musician, who came in third on American Idol, Season 10, recently dropped a new single, “Baby It’s You,” and has her third studio album, What’s That Sound?, on the way; it’s slated for release this summer. So, like we said, this sure is one heck of a way to get publicity.
