Popular Lesbian YouTube Star Comes Out as Transgender in Inspirational Video

By  |

Miles (formerly Amanda) McKenna, known for their YouTube channel called amandaschronicles, is a LGBTQ+ advocate who is always open with fans about sexuality, self-love, identity and more. Despite the fact that the 21-year-old was kicked out of the house after coming out as gay, they stayed positive and continued to be their true self. Now, the YouTuber has taken even further steps to reaching 100 percent happiness.

Miles came out as transgender non-binary in a recent video and explained that they will no longer be going by Amanda and will start taking testosterone soon.

“Well, if anyone’s gonna end up being trans, it’s gonna be me,” the YT star said in their typical comedic way. “I feel so good. I feel the most me I have since I was a child… I wouldn’t even feel the need to come out if it wasn’t like, ‘Hey, I’m going to change my name and I’m gonna go on T,’ because that’s what I’m doing.”

The YouTuber has actually being “obsessively looking up trans-guy stuff” since they were 14, but didn’t really identify with that label. Eventually, they realized that they actually are non-binary, which, to Miles, means that “gender does not exist.”

“So, for me personally, I always tried to put myself in the binary. It was like I had to be a guy, or I had to be a girl; I had to do one of those, which isn’t me. I’m not a guy, but I’m also not a girl. I feel really good as me. I feel really happy as me and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
