6 Major Roles Amanda Bynes Almost Landed When She Was in Her Prime
A few years ago, Amanda Bynes‘ bizarre behavior had everyone thinking she was suffering from a serious mental disorder. The actress got so bad that she was forcibly hospitalized and sent to a rehabilitation facility to get treatment for her unknown condition. Now, more than three years later, she is in college, laying low and thriving, and her mom wants people to know that their assumptions were completely not true. “Amanda has no mental illness whatsoever. She has never been diagnosed as schizophrenic or bipolar,” her mother, Lynne Bynes, said in a statement in September 2016.
While the 30-year-old actress’ apparent breakdown is basically all anyone thinks of when they hear her name nowadays, she was once simply known as one of the brightest young comediennes in Hollywood, starring in HILARIOUS movies like She’s the Man and Easy A. A lot has changed since then, but when she was in her prime, basically everyone wanted her. Check out the list below to see all the roles Amanda could’ve played over the years.
Mia Thermopolis, The Princess Diaries
While we now cannot picture TPD without Anne Hathaway as the Princess of Genovia, she was basically film executives' last choice for the role.
At the time, Anne was a relatively unknown actress, and more popular stars like Katie Holmes, Reese Witherspoon, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson and, you guessed it, Amanda Bynes were all offered the part after Juliette Lewis dropped out.
