Alexander Ludwig Tweets About Possibly Playing Four in ‘Divergent’
While Shailene Woodley is *thisclose* to playing leading lady Tris in Divergent, has her male counter part been found? Apparently, Hunger Games star Alexander Ludwig (who played the deadly tribute Cato), is in the running, and sent this tweet to fans:
Had an amazing meeting with Doug Wick (produced gladiator) about playing Four in Divergent. Need to get this one. Much love to the fans!

This would be an interesting casting choice because in the book, about futuristic dystopian society (sort of like Hunger Games) where the population is divided into factions based on human traits, Four is described as having dark hair and light eyes. Pretty much the opposite of Alexander, but he could certainly dye his hair to play the part — just look at Josh Hutcherson! Though he might not have those particular features down, he certainly has the body type to play Four, since he’s a strong, athletic individual.
If you’re not up to speed, YA novel divergent centers on the story of a 16-year old named Tris (presumably, Woodley) who abandons her faction to join a rival one, but during the harsh initiation into the new faction, she falls for a young man named Four who was originally her instructor, and then they try to find their own path in the cruel world. Divergent is expected to hit theaters in March 2014.
