This Jingle Ball Performer Threw Serious Shade…and Had No Idea!
While you were home alone belting out the hit song “Here” this year, we bet you didn’t even realize that the powerhouse behind those vocals was an adorable 5’3 teen named Alessia Cara. The singer may be petite, but the girl is a total #Boss. With that said, she’s also the sweetest person imaginable, which is why she STILL cringes thinking about how she unintentionally offended someone like, forever ago. Awww.
Considering it was an honest mistake, we think we can all give the 19-year-old songstress the benefit of the doubt. Plus, the teen wonder has been raising eyebrows in the music world, from the likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Drake, so she’s certainly no joke. To read more about all the ups (and some awkward downs) the Canadian has had in 2015, check out our chat from this year’s Z100 Jingle Ball.
Who have you been most excited to see at Jingle Ball?
“I’ve seen a lot of these people already, but I love watching them every time. I got to watch Hailee (Steinfeld) and Zedd, which was crazy. Hopefully I get to watch The Weekend. I’m so excited for them; I haven’t seen them yet.”
Have you had any embarrassing moments that you can remember from this year?
“Everything… I do so many embarrassing things it’s so uncomfortable. There was this one moment when I was at a radio station and I introduced myself to a guy that worked there. I said, ‘Hi, I’m Alessia. Nice to meet you.’ He was like, ‘I know. I just met you downstairs.’ I was so embarrassed. I felt so awkward and uncomfortable and so bad for him! Like, five minutes ago, really?! I don’t know what happened; I must have been really tired, but I was so embarrassed.”
Other celebrities tweet you all the time about how amazing you are! Who’s one celebrity that totally shocked you?
“So many different people! First of all, Taylor Swift was so incredible and I freaked out so hard; I love her. When Ed Sheeran and Drake followed me, that was pretty amazing, too. I had a little moment.”
Who did you fangirl over when you were growing up?
“I loved the Black Eyed Peas. I was obsessed with them and they were my favorite group ever, and Amy Winehouse, as well; I love her.”
Are you planning on doing anything fun for the holidays?
“Go home to Canada and just chill with my family. That’s all I’m going to do!”
