Aerie is Focusing on Promoting Body Positivity by Revamping Its Stores
Change is on the way! Recently, American Eagle and Aerie have put a large focus on body positivity and diverse body inclusion and the company’s recent campaign is nothing short of amazing.
According to Teen Vogue, Aerie has announced that, as part of its #AerieREAL campaign, the brand will now be holding a training program for all staff members called “Don’t Change You. Change Your Bra!” This program will teach employees how to best promote body positivity in stores to all customers and how to create a judgment-free zone. The training program comes from Aerie’s recent partnership with the National Eating Disorders Association.
The new training program comes on the heels of many other body positive changes that the lingerie company has made. Most recently, Aerie hired 57 non-models to star in its latest campaign, vowing to not use Photoshop to alter the bodies of the women. The brand also launched the Support in the Fitting Room initiative and Best Fit Finder tool a little while back to help employees determine a customer’s perfect bra size.
Fans of the brand are in awe of the changes that the company has been making:
Yassssss. Every store should be like @aerie and promote body positivity. Let’s build each other up instead of tearing each other apart for our flaws. F*ck society and its unrealistic ideals… https://t.co/i8uPaEvl8z
