Adele’s 30th Birthday Party was Titanic-Themed & People are Outraged

On May 5, 2018, one of the greatest singers of our time, Adele, rang in her 30th birthday. So, naturally, she needed to party it up in style… and she totally did. 1912 style, to be more accurate.

The “Hello” crooner came decked out in a hairstyle and garb nearly identical to those of Kate Winslet‘s character, Rose, in the iconic film Titanic:

The birthday girl wrote after the event:

“Dirty 30! I’m not sure what I’m going to do for the next 30 years as I’ve been blessed beyond words in my life so far. Thank you to everyone for coming along for the ride the last 11 years with me. My family and friends for entertaining my super fandom of the Titanic movie. Last night was the best night of my life. Here’s a couple pics. I’m absolutely f*cked, not sure I’ll make it out the house again!
Ps Childish Gambino how the hell do you have time to offer us so much greatness on so many platforms. I adore you x”

While many are praising the event and suffering from serious FOMO, others were quick to point out that the 1997 movie was based on a real-life tragedy; a tragedy in which 1,503 people drowned.

Everyone who loves Adele knows that she loves movie reenactments. The Revenant, Ghostbusters, The Mask — they’ve all been done by the musician. But was this taking things too far?
