Adam Rippon Confirms He Has a New Boyfriend, Who He Met on Tinder
Figure skater Adam Rippon won the hearts of millions of people across the world, not only because he won a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, but also because he’s basically the funniest human on the planet. The 28-year-old is also super relatable, admitting that he has a HUGE crush on both Harry Styles and Shawn Mendes. Like, don’t we all? His fondness for the musicians didn’t stop him going out and dating following the Olympic Games, however, and he found a match (literally — because they met on Tinder) with a guy named Jussi-Pekka Kajaala.
The athlete tells People magazine that the relationship is “fresh” and his new bae is NOT a skater.
Adam explains that he and Jussi-Pekka have “been talking for the past seven months,” but were finally able to get to know each other more after the figure skater got back from South Korea.
“[We] started to hang out a little bit more, because we were both really busy,” he continues.
AR seemingly mentioned JP (not by name, of course) while on The Ellen Show a few weeks ago and host Ellen DeGeneres asked him if cameras could come along on one of their dates.
While Adam is obviously incredibly happy now, he was also quite content being single.
“I think a lot of people are afraid to be single and I fully embraced it, because I have really invested a lot of time into thinking about: What do I want to do?” he said last month. “What’s important to me? What gives me the most energy? What inspires me the most? If I can meet a guy that falls into that and is supportive of that, that’s great. I’ve tried Tinder and Grindr and everything. I’m only human.”
