Aaron Carter & Madison Parker Split Right Before Bisexuality Announcement

It’s been quite a month for Aaron Carter. In July, he was arrested for alleged DUI & drug possession and confessed to having an eating disorder. Now, he’s making headlines for two other big events: In the span of a week, he broke up with his girlfriend, Madison Parker, and came out as bisexual.

In a long confession on Twitter, the 29-year-old said, “There’s something I’d like to say that I feel is important for myself and my identity that has been weighing on my chest for nearly half of my life.”

“This doesn’t bring me shame, just a weight and burden I have held onto for a long time that I would like lifted off of me,” he continued. “I grew up in this entertainment industry at a very young age and when I was around 13-year-old I started to find boys and girls attractive.

“There were years that went by that I thought about it, but it wasn’t until I was 17-years-old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with,” he admitted.

He ended his note with a quote from gay icon Boy George, “I’ve never felt as though I didn’t belong, I just acted as though I did.”

As for his split from Madison Parker, that reportedly went down last week, days before the announcement. “The split was very amicable,” according to Entertainment Tonight. “Aaron is continuing to focus on his personal self with regards to his truth, health and music.”

“Aaron and Madison love each other and respect one another dearly,” the “I Want Candy” crooner’s rep said in a statement. “It was a mutual decision and Aaron’s personal statement released speaks for itself. Now back to the music.”
