The 2018 MTV VMA nominations are in and to no one’s surprise, Cardi B is sweeping the list. She’s even got more nominations than the Carters and that’s a pretty amazing accomplishment if you ask us!

Cardi’s music career kinda sorta took a backseat ever since she got pregnant with her daughter Kulture, but that’s not stopping the award nominations from coming rolling on in. In fact, MTV JUST revealed their list of nominations for the 2018 VMAs and at the top of the list with the most nominations is none other than Chef Cardi B.

The “I Like It” rapper straight up dominated the list with a whopping TEN nominations. A few of those noms include some of the biggest categories of the night like video, song, and artist of the year. Meanwhile, Beyonce & Jay-Z follow closely behind Cardi with eight noms. The Carter’s eight nominations include video of the year, best collaboration, and best hip-hop for their incredible song, “Apes–t.”

However, Cardi and The Carters weren’t the only artists with multiple noms! Childish Gambino and Drake are both up for seven awards each while Bruno Mars received six nominations, Ariana Grande and Camila Cabello got five noms, and Ed Sheeran, Khalid, and Young Thug are all up for four each.

Funny enough, many of the artists we just mentioned are also all up for some of the biggest awards of the night like Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year.

In this year’s Best New Artist category, Cardi is going up against other newcomers like Bazzi, Chloe x Halle, Hayley Kiyoko, Lil Pump, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Fans can vote for their faves in eight VMA categories this year and they have until Friday, August 10th to do so! Voting for the ‘Best New Artist’ award will stay active until the VMAs are broadcast on Monday, August 20th.
