9 Characters from ’00s TV Shows Who Deserved Their Own Spin-Offs
In the ’80s and ’90s, it wasn’t very rare for sitcom characters to end up with their own spin-off show. That was the case with Denise Huxtable from The Cosby Show, who starred on A Different World, a show set at a historically black college. This was also the case for Fraiser Crane, a minor character on a show called Cheers before getting a TV show called, well, Fraiser. Oh, and our favorite teen misanthrope, Daria Morgendorffer from Daria, was on Beavis and Butthead before getting her own (and much better) show.
But by the time the ’00s rolled around, spin-offs were far and few between. I mean, the only one coming to mind for me is Joey, starring Matt Leblanc from Friends… but the show pretty much bombed. Now, spin-offs are slowly starting to gain popularity again, especially with shows like Sam and Cat (R.I.P.) and Fear the Walking Dead.
